Terry Fox Run 2025

Terry Fox Run

The Terry Fox Run usually takes place on the Friday afternoon prior to the official Terry Fox Run held on Sunday. This is a school-wide fundraising event in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. As a community event, parents, grandparents, and friends are warmly invited to join us.

The Terry Fox Run has taken place in schools across the province since 1980. Terry Fox was born in 1958 and was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 21. On April 12, 1980, Terry began his Marathon of Hope in St. John’s, Newfoundland, running an average of 42 kilometres per day across six provinces. Sadly, after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres, Terry was forced to stop on September 1, 1980, when his cancer returned. His famous words still inspire us today: “I’m going to do my very best. I promise I won’t give up.”

As of 2014, the Terry Fox Foundation had raised over $650 million for cancer research. Brantford has proudly participated in the Terry Fox Run for more than 30 years.

Let’s keep Terry’s dream alive and take part in the Terry Fox Run together.
